Temperatures to drop fast tonight; see your Christmas weekend forecast

ORLANDO, Fla. — A cold front has just passed through most Central Florida neighborhoods.

A Weather Alert Day is issued for Saturday and Sunday as freezing temperatures settle in.

You may have felt a quick chill in the air, said meteorologist George Waldenberger. If you did, it’s because temperatures began cooling off after a front moved into Central Florida earlier Friday.

The front will clear Brevard County later in the afternoon.

As the winds change from the northwest behind the front, temperatures will drop through the afternoon and even faster Friday evening.

By Saturday morning, freezing temperatures will sweep across Central Florida.

Here’s a summary of the night’s winter weather alerts as of Friday afternoon.

All Central Florida areas are under a wind chill advisory Friday night and Saturday morning. Wind chills in the ‘teens are expected.

Marion, Sumter and Flagler Counties are under a hard freeze warning (colder than 28°) Friday night and Saturday morning.

Volusia, Lake, Polk, Seminole, Orange and Osceola Counties are under a freeze warning (colder than 32°) Friday night and Saturday morning.

All of Brevard County is under a freeze warning Friday night and Saturday morning, with the exception of the southern beaches.

Christmas morning will bring another freeze with a warm-up through next week.
