ORLANDO, Fla. — Severe storms are possible starting late Thursday but before then, Thursday will stay very warm with near-record high temperatures for Central Florida.
Here’s what to expect Wednesday evening across Central Florida:
- Highs topped the low 80s on Wednesday afternoon.
- Evening temps will only drop to the mid to upper 60s, partly to mostly cloudy skies and with the chance for a couple of scattered showers moving from west to east over Central Florida.
- Thursday will be windy, muggy and very warm, with temperatures near-record approaching 90s degrees.
- Storms will arrive late Thursday as a cold front aligns sweeping through Central Florida during the early morning hours on Friday.

A strong low-pressure system with a cold front, currently over the Central U.S. moving to the east, will bring messy conditions for the Central and the Eastern U.S. Snow, downpours and the chance for severe weather will be moving east through this week.
In Central Florida, there is the chance for severe weather starting late Thursday into Friday morning with the cold front pushing over the state. Storms could produce damaging wind gusts, downpours that could lead to flooding and the chance for an isolated tornado.
