Primary Day forecast: Afternoon storm chances go up on Election Day in Central Florida

ORLANDO, Fla. — The chances of afternoon rain and storm activity are starting to increase in Central Florida.

Our area is forecast to see a 60% chance of rain and afternoon storms on Tuesday.

The rain chances should go up to around 70% to 80% from Wednesday through the weekend.

The increase in activity is due to some storm systems near Florida.

The average high temperature in Central Florida should reach around 93.

There are a few areas in the tropics that Channel 9 meteorologists are monitoring, but there is nothing threatening Florida.
