ORLANDO, Fla. — Storms are winding down after dropping severe hail around Daytona Beach Saturday morning.

Stimulus update: Senate passes COVID-19 relief bill with $1,400 checks, scaled-back unemployment

While the rain was widespread, the hail was primarily reported in a few Volusia County neighborhoods between 10:35 and 11:05 Saturday morning. The hailstones were as large as golf balls in some areas, and in others, smaller hailstones covered the ground in piles and drifts a few inches deep.

Some areas looked as if it had snowed and one person even took to using a snow shovel to shovel the hail off sidewalks.

Most of the rain is done, but an isolated shower or two is still possible through Sunday morning. Sunday will be cool and much drier, with sunshine and more of a northeast wind.
