Hurricane Dorian: When schools in each Central Florida district will reopen after the storm

Central Florida schools are announcing when classes will resume following Hurricane Dorian.

Volusia County schools:

Volusia County Schools announced all of its classes are canceled through Thursday. Classes will resume Friday.

Orange County schools:

Orange County Public Schools will be closed through Wednesday due to Hurricane Dorian. Classes are scheduled to resume Thursday.

Windermere Preparatory School will be closed through Wednesday.

Orangewood Christian School announced it will be closed through Wednesday.

Brevard County schools:

Brevard Public Schools announced that schools will be closed through Thursday due to Hurricane Dorian. The district said schools will reopen Friday.

Osceola County schools:

The Osceola School District announced Friday that classes are canceled through Wednesday due to Hurricane Dorian. Classes will resume Thursday.

Seminole County schools:

Seminole County Public Schools said classes are canceled through Wednesday due to Hurricane Dorian. Classes will resume Thursday.

Practices may resume as soon as schools are officially open.

Oct. 17 and Oct. 18 have been deemed makeup days.

Elsewhere in the county, the Master's Academy said it will be closed through Wednesday.

Sumter District schools:

Sumter District Schools announced that classes would resume Wednesday.

"Any other school cancellations will be posted on our website, or communicated through our callout system, school signs and TV/Radio media outlets," the district said.

Lake County schools:

Lake County public schools and district offices would be closed through Wednesday due to Hurricane Dorian. Classes will resume Thursday. The shelters that were housed in Lake County schools will close at noon Wednesday.

Polk County schools:

Polk County Public Schools announced that public schools and district offices will be closed through Wednesday due to Hurricane Dorian. Classes will resume Thursday.

Flagler County schools:

The Flagler County School District announced school closures through Thursday due to Hurricane Dorian. The school district said classes will resume Friday.

Marion County schools:

Marion County Public Schools announced Wednesday that classes will resume Thursday. The district had originally planned to stay closed until Monday, but announced the change Wednesday morning.
