Lake County: Fallen trees, homes damaged by Hurricane Irma's winds

LAKE COUNTY, Fla. — A tree and a light pole fell on an Ocala police officer's cruiser in Tavares, but officials said the officer was not in the car. Police said the incident happened while they were clearing the road of another fallen tree.

The hardest hit area may have been Umatilla, where trees fell on homes and businesses.

No injuries were reported.

Lake County Economic Growth has set up a business hotline 352-253-9998 at the Emergency Operations Center to assist businesses with the Business Disaster Assistance programs from the Small Business Development Center.
