Eye on the Tropics

These 2 areas are being watched for potential tropical development

She said there are no threats to Florida now, but that she’s continuing to keep her eye on the tropics.

The first area, in the southwest Atlantic, could produce a surface low later on Wednesday. Crimi said there is decent potential for this system to evolve into a subtropical depression over the next few days as it lifts toward Bermuda.

The second area, in the eastern Caribbean, has decent potential but looks to be a bit slower. Crimi said environmental conditions will become better for tropical development over the weekend.

Crimi said this could lead to a tropical depression early next week that would move west into the central Caribbean Sea.
