Shannon joined the Eyewitness News team in 2013 after spending almost a decade at the Fox television station in Orlando.
Before that, she worked at the CBS affiliate in Tallahassee and was an anchor/reporter at Central Florida News 13 here in the city beautiful.
Shannon has had many offers over the years to go to different cities and different television markets, but few could compete with the news here in Florida.
Shannon covered some of the biggest cases to ever hit central Florida: She was the first reporter to report that Astronaut Lisa Nowak had been arrested in a love triangle in 2007.
In 2008, Shannon spent most of her time covering the Casey Anthony case until Anthony's trial in 2011.
Shortly after that, George Zimmerman shot and killed Trayvon Martin, and Shannon spent most of the next year working on the story, which ended after Zimmerman was acquitted in 2013.
Living and working in central Florida means covering at least a half-dozen hurricanes and just as many wildfires. Those stories have won Shannon some small awards, but she has yet to win an Emmy. She thinks this is the year!
Shannon graduated from San Diego State and spent time at UCLA. She has lived in central Florida since 1998.
She lives downtown with her husband, her daughter and her 9 year old golden retriever.
