9 things to know about Super Bowl LV

TAMPA, Fla. — Super Bowl LV is less than two weeks away.

With the teams taking to the field decided over the weekend, more things have been finalized about the big game.

Here are nine things to know about this year’s game.

1. The NFC champion Tampa Bay Buccaneers will take on the AFC champion Kansas City Chiefs in the game with kickoff scheduled for 6:30 p.m. on Feb. 7.

2. The Buccaneers will become the first team to play a Super Bowl at their home stadium at Raymond James Stadium.

3. Tailgating will not be permitted at Super Bowl LV.

4. Attendees will be required to follow six-foot physical distancing markers displayed throughout common areas inside and outside Raymond James Stadium.

5. Facial coverings will be mandatory for anyone in the stadium, including fans and staff, and must be worn at all times other than while actively eating or drinking, from the parking lot to the stadium entry gates.

6. The first several rows of seats closest to the field will be closed off to create distance between fans and players. Additionally, Raymond James Stadium will be blocking off seats to support physical distancing.

7. Tampa Bay averaged 14,483 fans for its eight home games in 2020 — about 22% of stadium capacity. The NFL is planning for about 22,000 fans at the Super Bowl.

8. To limit touchpoints and add to efficiency, Super Bowl LV will be the first fully cashless Super Bowl.

9. This year’s halftime performer will be The Weeknd.
