Master’s Academy storms back to beat Mount Dora Christian 28-21

The Eagles stormed back from a 14-0 deficit Tuesday night.

OVIEDO, Fla. -- Despite turning the ball over five times in the first quarter, Master’s Academy rallied from a 14-0 hole to beat Mount Dora Christian Academy 28-21 Tuesday night in a big SSAC showdown.

Freshman quarterback Nazir McMillan provided a spark for the Eagles and threw a touchdown on his first throw to cut the Bulldogs’ lead to 14-8 at halftime.

On his second throw of the game in the third quarter, he threw another touchdown to tie the game 14-14. In the fourth quarter, McMillan added another passing touchdown to give the Eagles a 21-14 lead and they held off the Bulldogs from there.

Master’s Academy (4-3) has won three straight and will host Trinity Prep on October 21.

Mount Dora Christian Academy (3-4) will host Trinity Christian Academy.
