Florida Atlantic rallies with 6 late runs, ousts Stetson 8-4

CORAL GABLES, Fla. (AP) — Brett Lashley's two-run double in the eighth put Florida Atlantic ahead for good, and the Owls beat Stetson 8-4 on Saturday in an elimination game at the NCAA Tournament's Coral Gables Regional.


   Billy Endris had three hits for the Owls (39-18), while Tyler Frank and Stephen Kerr drove in two runs apiece. Florida Atlantic trailed 4-2 going into the seventh, and then scored the game's final six runs.

   Devon Carr pitched three innings of shutout relief, allowing just one hit and one walk and striking out three for Florida Atlantic.

   Corey Reid had four hits for Stetson (29-31), while Will Mackenzie and Jack Machonis both had a pair of RBIs for the Hatters.

   Florida Atlantic will face either Miami or Long Beach State in another elimination game on Sunday.
