Big 12 Commissioner Brett Yormark visits UCF

ORLANDO, Fla. -- Big 12 Commissioner Brett Yormark made his first trip to UCF Wednesday ahead of the university’s move to the conference in July of 2023.

The Knights are joining the Big 12 on July 1, 2023 with BYU, Cincinnati and Houston.

Yormark was greeted after landing in Orlando by a pep band, cheerleaders, Nitro and UCF Athletic Director Terry Mohajir. Yormark says he loves UCF’s facilities and the passion of the fan base. He added that having a university in Florida will add a recruiting hot bed to the conference.

Yormark also said that adding UCF to the Big 12 is “critical” to the future of the conference.
