ORLANDO, Fla. -- The Boys & Girls Club of America held their annual national conference in Orlando last week.
Close to 2,500 people listened to former MLB All-Star Alex Rodriguez give closing remarks on Friday morning at the Hyatt Regency Orlando. The former New York Yankee is a Boys & Girls Club alumni and he learned to play baseball at the age of nine at the Boys & Girls Club chapter in Miami.
He was also a Boys & Girls Clubs of America member until 1993 when he was drafted No. 1 overall by the Seattle Mariners.
He is also a national board member for the Boys & Girls Clubs of America.
