Have you ever thought about how your tires are the only part of your car that is on the ground? They are in constant contact with the road! For this reason, it’s important to keep up with and maintain your car tires in Orlando! A crucial part to ensuring your tires are OK is to check the air pressure! If you don’t know how to check the pressure, Toyota of Orlando is here to give you advice and help you keep these important auto parts in good shape!
Maintaining your car tires is easy!
We’re helping you check the air pressure with this handy step-by-step guide, thanks to our expert Orlando Toyota service technicians! By taking these steps you’ll be able to ensure your car will be driving smoother and that they will be wearing evenly! Before you get started make sure you have a pressure gauge handy!
Step 1: Read your owner’s manual to look up the exact air pressure your car tires need! You can typically find the proper psi on a sticker on the inside of your car’s door as well. Be sure to follow the guidelines precisely to ensure absolute inflation!
Step 2: Remove the valve stem cap and press the tip of the gauge to the tip of the valve stem and the pressure gauge will read the psi! Consult your owner’s manual to verify if the pressure is too low or too high.
Step 3: If the pressure reads too high, press the tip of the pressure gauge into the valve stem to release some air. Once you’ve let out a portion of air, use the pressure gauge to read to the psi again. If the pressure is too low, use an air compressor to add air to your Orlando car tires. Add a bit of air and check the psi- do this until you reach the desired number indicated in your owner’s manual.
Step 4: Remember to screw the valve cap back on tight to ensure air will not leak out!
Repeat steps one through four on the other three tires!
It’s crucial to keep your Orlando ride in tiptop shape!
- If you check the air yourself, or bring it to our Toyota Service Center in Orlando, it will pay off! Having properly inflated tires will keep your tread and gas tank happy!
- Too low of pressure will cause them to wear unevenly and your car's handling to worsen. Eventually, uneven wear will require you to need new car tires sooner than usual!
- Too high of pressure will cause your car to ride bouncier and increases your chances of a tire blowout! Don't end up stranded on the side of the road because of a blowout!
- Additionally, car tires with the proper psi will cost you less in fuel costs! Low tires will affect your fuel efficiency and cost you more at the pump!
