Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser to permanently close this fall, Disney says

LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. — Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser will officially close this fall, Walt Disney World announced Thursday.

The final voyages will take place Sept. 28-30, Disney said.

“Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser is one of our most creative projects ever and has been praised by our guests and recognized for setting a new bar for innovation and immersive entertainment,” a Walt Disney World spokesperson said in a statement. “This premium, boutique experience gave us the opportunity to try new things on a smaller scale of 100 rooms, and as we prepare for its final voyage, we will take what we’ve learned to create future experiences that can reach more of our guests and fans.”

The first of its kinds immersive experience opened in March 2022. It allows guests to embark on in a cabin or suite, includes entertainment, food and beverage, admission to Disney’s Hollywood Studios and more, according to the hotel website.

New bookings for Galactic Starcruiser are temporarily paused and will reopen on May 26, Disney said. Those who booked a voyage on or after Sept. 30 will be contacted soon to discuss options and modify plans, Disney said.

The hotel started at $4,809 for two guests per cabin for two nights, the minimum-required stay.

“We are so proud of all of the cast members and Imagineers who brought Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser to life and look forward to delivering an excellent experience for guests during the remaining voyages over the coming months,” Disney said in a prepared statement.
