EUSTIS, Fla. — A woman was injured in a shooting during the annual “Light-Up Eustis” Christmas celebration in downtown Eustis Friday night.

According to Eustis police, officers were first called about a person shot downtown shortly after 9:30 p.m.
Officers stationed for the event were able to hear the gunshots and immediately responded to the area where they located the victim, identified only as a woman.
She was taken to Central Florida Regional Hospital in Sanford with a minor gunshot wound and is expected to survive, according to police.
The shooting scene has been taped off as detectives continue investigating.

Police haven’t released any information on a possible suspect in the shooting but say it appears to have been an isolated incident and there’s no immediate threat to the general public.
