Central Florida at risk of severe storms overnight and Sunday

ORLANDO, Fla. — Storms rolled through Central Florida early Saturday, and it is likely that more are on the way.

Central Florida is under a severe storm threat Saturday evening until Sunday afternoon.

Scattered storms are possible with damaging winds or even tornadoes.

Channel 9 will continue to watch the risk of severe storms overnight.

Like last weekend, thunderstorms with damaging winds and tornado warnings are possible.

Parts of Central Florida saw over an inch of rain Saturday, with more on the way Sunday.

In the meantime, our stretch of daily afternoon highs in the 80s with waves of rain will continue.

With each wave comes the possibility of isolated severe storms.

The weather pattern shifts late next week as the front that is parked just to the north pushes through.

By next Saturday, much colder and drier air will move in.

Temperatures in the low 80s return Sunday afternoon.
