The event was planned before a former Minneapolis police officer was convicted in the murder of George Floyd.
Organizers shared the names and faces of other people who have died following interactions with law enforcement.
The spotlight at Saturday’s event was on the families of people who have been killed by law enforcement or died in police custody.

The families who spoke were all from the central part of the state.
They shared their hurt and pain, and also their frustrations with what many say is a lack of transparency in their loved ones’ cases.
Most who spoke said a lot of work still needs to be done on police reform.
They worry people have lost steam from last year, especially after the conviction of former officer Derek Chauvin.
