WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — Winston-Salem police are investigating an armed robbery at a Taco Bell after a woman crawled through the drive-thru window “swinging a knife” and made off with cash.
According to WRAL-TV, the knife-wielding woman hoisted herself through the North Carolina window just before 4:30 p.m. EDT Saturday and snagged one of the fast-food chain’s cash drawers.
Investigators determined that the woman, in her 40s, climbed through the window while “swinging a knife” and stole “an undisclosed amount of money,” The News & Observer reported.
According to police, the unidentified woman then fled the area in a brown SUV that was waiting outside, the newspaper reported.
No workers were hurt during the incident, WRAL-TV reported.
