Woman claiming to be Harry Potter accused of killing federal judge, injuring boy, 6, in hit-and-run

BOCA RATON, Fla. — A North Lauderdale, Florida, woman is accused of killing a federal judge and injuring a young boy in a hit-and-run crash Friday morning in Boca Raton.

According to police, 23-year-old Nastasia Snape was driving erratically on Ocean Boulevard when she struck two pedestrians, WPEC reported.

The pedestrians were identified as Sandra Feuerstein, a federal judge in Long Island, New York, and 6-year-old Anthony Ovchinnikov, WABC reported.

Feuerstein was pronounced dead a short while later at Delray Medical Center, but the condition of the child remained unknown Sunday evening, WPEC reported.

Investigators told the Florida TV station that Snape fled the initial crash scene and was arrested in Delray Beach, where she crashed her vehicle. The officer who approached Snape’s crashed vehicle said she appeared to be convulsing but told him she was OK before screaming and fighting with paramedics claiming to be fictional boy wizard Harry Potter.

Snape was taken into custody and charged with leaving the scene of an accident involving death and leaving the scene of a crash with injury, WPEC reported.

According to WABC, both Feuerstein and Ovchinnikov were on a sidewalk when struck by Snape’s vehicle.

Investigators also confirmed that they found the synthetic drug commonly referred to as “bath salts” in Snape’s purse following the crash, the New York TV station reported.

Feuerstein, 75, was presiding over the murder-for-hire case of NYPD Officer Valeire Cincinelli, who is accused of plotting against her estranged husband, and it remained unclear Sunday how Feuerstein’s sudden death will impact the case, WABC reported.

She was appointed to the federal bench by former President George W. Bush in 2003, after serving 16 years as a New York State judge, the TV station reported.
