LUTZ, Fla. — A single ticket sold at a Publix in Lutz, Florida, matched all six numbers in Saturday night’s $238 million jackpot, according to the Powerball website.
The winner, who has not been identified, will have the option to collect the winnings in a lump sum of $160 million. The winning numbers were: 6, 14, 38, 39, 65 and Powerball 6 with a Powerplay of 3x.
Before Saturday’s drawing, the jackpot was last won on Jan. 30 and will now reset to $20 million – with a lump sum payout of $13.6 million – for Wednesday’s drawing, WFLA reported.
Powerball is a lottery game in which a player chooses five numbers, drawn from a set of 69 white balls, and one number from 26 red Powerballs. For an additional cost, players can add Power Play to their ticket, which can multiply non-jackpot prizes, CNN reported.
Lutz is located just north of Tampa.
According to the Powerball website, a person has a 1 in 24.9 chance of winning a prize in any given drawing, regardless of the size of the jackpot.
