ISLAMORADA, Fla. — Florida wildlife officials removed an unwanted visitor from a home Tuesday -- a 12-foot crocodile.

Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission officers and a trapper removed the crocodile from a home on Mile Marker 76.5 in Islamorada, WPLG reported.

The reptile was tagged with a GPS tracking device and relocated.

There were no injuries.

Crocodiles are shy and reclusive, wildlife officials said. They live in brackish water and live in ponds, coves and mangrove swamps. Because of South Florida’s extensive canal system, sometimes they end up in fresh water.
