FORT MYERS, Fla. — A Florida man is facing charges after police said he was captured on surveillance video attacking kiosks and cars with a board covered in nails.
Describing it as “a scene right out of the Walking Dead,” the Lee County Sheriff’s Office said Jonathan Caballero went into a Fort Myers Taco Bell and began using a board covered in nails to smash menu boards and kiosks.
The sheriff’s office shared a video on its Facebook page that it said shows Caballero waving the board and using it to damage the property. Police said after leaving the restaurant, Caballero went out to the parking lot, where he used the board to break car windows and threw a paver into a vehicle.
Employees called 911 after asking Caballero to leave the store, WBBH reported. The employee who had the paver thrown at his car’s window said the incident caused approximately $500 in damage. Another worker told police the damage to his car was estimated at $100, WBBH reported.
The Lee County Sheriff’s Office said when its deputies caught up to Caballero, he was still carrying the board covered in nails, and tried to give officers the wrong name.
Caballero is being held at the Lee County Jail without bond, according to online jail records.
