PASCO COUNTY, Fla. — Sheriff’s deputies made a big mistake when they served an eviction notice at the wrong house in Florida.
Jennifer Michele posted a video to TikTok from her doorbell camera, which showed deputies from the Pasco County Sheriff’s Office saying they were serving an eviction notice.

In the video, Michele is upset and clearly confused, saying: “I am caught up on my bills. Nobody has served me an eviction notice.”
“I didn’t know if these people were trying to get into my house,” Michele told WFLA. “I didn’t know if everything was OK.”
The deputies were in the process of disabling the lock on Michele’s door when they realized their mistake, WTSP reported. The deputies asked for her full name and then checked the home’s address.
The deputies, having determined Michele should not be evicted, then approached the camera and said, “We actually … we do apologize. We have the wrong house.”
“I was very angry. My dogs are inside and they were barking up a storm,” Michele told WTSP. “Yes, it was a mistake, and I get that people can make mistakes, but that’s a big mistake to make.”
A spokesperson for the Pasco County Sheriff’s Office told WFLA that it is investigating to determine how the mistake happened.
The deputies made sure the lock was fixed that afternoon and bought Michele lunch as an apology, WTSP reported.
“I just think — if I didn’t catch it, would all my stuff be in the driveway?” Michele told WFLA. “I don’t know. I don’t know how it would have played out if I didn’t catch it.”
