Ukrainian anchor loses tooth on air, keeps reading the news

A Ukrainian news anchor seemed unphazed when she lost a tooth -- on air -- as she continued to read the news.

Marichka Padalko shared a clip of the video on social media.

“This is probably my most curious experience in 20 years as a presenter,” Padalko said. “Live broadcasting is wonderful because it is always unpredictable.”

The video shows part of Padalko’s tooth falling out during a broadcast. She put the hunk of tooth into her hand and continued reading the news.

She said she the tooth was knocked loose by her daughter about 10 years ago while playing with an alarm clock, News.com reported. She recently had a repair on it but did not follow the post-treatment recommendation to avoid biting hard food.

She did not think anyone noticed. However, viewers started circulating clips on social media.

"Honestly, I thought the incident would go unnoticed. This episode was deliberately not posted on the TSN YouTube channel," she said. "But we underestimated the attention of our viewers."

Padalko said one of her colleagues complimented her on her composure: “You reacted as if you lost teeth every day.”
