"Dancing With the Stars" officially has a new host: Tyra Banks.
According to The Associated Press, ABC announced late Tuesday that the supermodel and TV personality will become the show's solo host and executive producer.
The "America's Next Top Model" co-creator said in a statement that she enjoys how "DWTS" incorporates "fun mixed with raw emotion" while pushing celebrities "past their comfort zones," the AP reported. She also lauded the show's "sizzling dance performances."
“It’s always transported me to my days of turning it up 10 notches on the catwalk,” the statement read.
The announcement came one day after news circulated that hosts Tom Bergeron and Erin Andrews would not be back for the next season of the reality competition.
According to People magazine, ABC and BBC issued a statement Monday confirming the departure of Bergeron, who had been with the show since 2005, and Andrews, who competed on the show in 2010 and had co-hosted since 2014.
"Tom Bergeron will forever be part of the 'Dancing With the Stars' family," read the statement obtained by People and E! News. "As we embark on a new creative direction, he departs the show with our sincerest thanks and gratitude for his trademark wit and charm that helped make this show a success."
The statement went on to say that Andrews, 42, also was leaving.
"We appreciate all that she brought to the ballroom," the networks said, lauding "her signature sense of humor."
Bergeron, 65, appeared to take the news in stride, tweeting Monday that his 15-year tenure on the show has been "the most unexpected gift of my career."
"I'm grateful for that and for the lifelong friendships made. That said, now what am I supposed to do with all of these glitter masks?" he quipped.
Andrews also took to social media after her ouster.
"Thank you ABC and the entire 'Dancing With the Stars' for six memorable seasons," she wrote Tuesday in an Instagram post. "Those years wouldn't have been as special without my loving host Tom Bergeron, the talented dancers and witty judges. I will always cherish my days on that set, even if I wasn't the best at walking in heels."
