SAN ANTONIO — A Texas woman is accused of stabbing her boyfriend multiple times after she claimed he was “not helping her with the bills,” authorities said.
Cassandra Gutierrez, 30, of San Antonio, was arrested Tuesday and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, a second-degree felony, according to Bexar County online court records.
According to an arrest affidavit, Gutierrez and the 42-year-old victim had been dating for about a year, KABB-TV reported. On Thanksgiving Day the couple returned to Gutierrez’s apartment after drinking at a bar, according to the television station.
Gutierrez became “confrontational” and accused the victim of “not helping with the bills,” KSAT-TV reported, citing the affidavit.
The confrontation escalated and Gutierrez grabbed a kitchen knife and stabbed the man multiple times, according to the television station.
According to police, the man was stabbed in his neck, right hand, left hand and back, KABB reported.
The victim fled the scene and called for help, according to the television station.
Gutierrez was taken into custody on Tuesday and her bail was set at $75,000, online court records show.
