Adam Uchyn, 39, of Neave Township, Ohio, was taken into custody by the Chicago Police Department at about 9:15 p.m. CDT, the Darke County Sheriff’s Office wrote in a news release posted to its Facebook page. Chicago police said Uchyn was booked on a felony probation warrant unrelated to the homicides, according to WHIO-TV.

Officials in Ohio said that two women went to the sheriff’s office early Friday to report a possible murder, WLS-TV reported. Officers responding to the scene discovered the bodies of a man and woman, according to the television station.

According to the sheriff’s office, Uchyn was a “known resident” at the address where the bodies were found. He was believed to have left the area in a white 2022 Chevrolet Equinox, the sheriff’s office said.

“Homicides don’t happen often in Darke County, but when they do, we’re going to do our best, we’re going to do a thorough investigation and get to the bottom of it, and we will hold the responsible party responsible and see that they get prosecuted,” Darke County Sheriff Mark Whittaker told WHIO.

No other details have been released, the television station reported.
