Two people are waking up much richer Thursday.
Two tickets -- one in California and one in Wisconsin -- matched the five numbers and Powerball on Wednesday night and will split the $632.6 million jackpot, according to the Powerball website.
The numbers drawn Wednesday night were 6-14-25-33-46 and the Powerball number was 17, according to the Powerball website. The drawing’s Power Play multiplier was 2.
Each ticket is worth $316.3 million if paid as an annuity, or $225.1 million if paid as a lump sum.
Update 7:31 p.m. EST Jan. 6: The winning ticket in Wisconsin was sold at a Citgo gas and convenience store in the Green Bay suburb of Ashwaubenon, WBAY-TV reported Thursday.
“For all of you players out there that just so happened to purchase your ticket at the Packerland Drive location, Jackson Pointe Citgo, check your tickets. One of you is going to win,” Wisconsin lottery director Cindy Polzin said.
Update 1:52 a.m. EST Jan. 6: The winning ticket in California was sold at a 7-Eleven in Sacramento, KCRA-TV reported, citing the Multi-State Lottery Association.
The jackpot will now reset to $20 million for Saturday’s drawing. There had not been a winner in 39 consecutive drawings.
Original report: Powerball’s $630 million jackpot for Wednesday night’s drawing made it the seventh-largest jackpot in the game’s history.
Lottery officials originally announced on Tuesday that they were increasing the jackpot estimate from $575 million to $610 million. However, on Wednesday afternoon officials said the jackpot had gone up to $630 million because of “fast-growing sales across the country.”

No one had won a Powerball jackpot since Oct. 4, when one player won $699.8 million. That was Powerball’s fifth-largest prize and the seventh-largest for any lottery in the United States.
A $731 million jackpot was won in Maryland on Jan. 20, 2021, and a $758.7 million winner was drawn on Aug. 23, 2017, in Massachusetts. Both of those prizes are in jeopardy of being surpassed, along with the second-highest Powerball jackpot -- $768.4 million, which was drawn March 27, 2019, and went to a winner in Wisconsin.
