Smash and grab: Thieves escape with over half a million worth of jewels, police say

NEW YORK — Three burglars smashed through the doors of a high-end jewelry store on Park Avenue, escaping with over $500,000 worth of jewelry.

The brazen robbery was caught on security video around 3:30 a.m. on Saturday in Midtown Manhattan.

In the video, three individuals can be seen smashing down the door with a sledgehammer and knocking over glass displays before grabbing the high-end jewelry inside, according to WABC-TV.

The trio escaped in a gray or silver sedan, according to the New York Police Department.

NYPD’s Crime Stoppers offers $3,500 to anyone who can help identify the thieves.
