Buddy the Elf has “passed through the several levels of the candy cane forest, through the sea of swirly-twirly gum drops” but didn’t walk through the Lincoln Tunnel for his latest adventure.

Instead, with a bit of editing magic, he is walking through the aisles of the British supermarket chain Asda.

Asda combined new footage of the stores and spliced it with repurposed clips of Will Ferrell as Buddy who is hired to spread Christmas cheer throughout the store, Huffington Post reported.

Buddy’s adventures through New York City are used throughout the store, replacing Ferrell’s chewed gum sampling with free food samples, and his singing in the Gimbels store with his takeover of the public address system in Asda.

A New York City cab is replaced by a line of shopping carts almost running Buddy over.

Just like the film, Buddy decorates the store after closing time, filling it with lights and decorations — all to become Asda’s newest full-time employee.
