POTTSVILLE, Ark. — A police officer, relatively new to the job, has saved the life of a 3-week-old baby who was choking.
Grady was being given anti-gas drops and all had been fine until it wasn’t.
“Right towards the end, he started choking,” Joe Chronister told “Fox & Friends.”
He said the baby was turning purple and wasn’t able to breathe so they called 911.
Pottsville Police Officer Cody Hubbard, 23, was the first responder to get to the baby. He said he was ‘freaking out” as he drove up.
Hubbard then tapped Grady on his back and was able to clear the baby’s airway. The rescue was captured on the officer’s body camera.
“Got him breathing and got him crying, which is a good thing,” Chronister told KLRT.
“It was life-changing,” Hubbard told Fox News.

He is a father and had a similar situation with his daughter, so he knew what to do.
“Whenever I rolled up on this call, anytime I deal with something that involves a child, I think about how the parents would want me to treat the child as if it were mine,” he told Fox News.
Once the danger had passed, however, the calmness broke. He told KLRT that he got into his car and started crying.
Grady is OK, according to his parents and Hubbard will be getting a life-saving award.
