Tesla is recalling nearly half a million vehicles because of rearview camera and trunk issues.
The recall affects Model 3 and Model S electric vehicles, Reuters reported.
Tesla is recalling 356,309 Model 3 vehicles from 2017 through 2020, because of problems with the cars’ review cameras.
“The rearview camera cable harness may be damaged by the opening and closing of the trunk lid, preventing the review camera image from displaying,” the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said, according to Reuters.
An additional 119,000 Model S vehicles from 2014 through 2021 are part of the recall because of front hood problems, according to The Wall Street Journal.
A front hood latch issue can allow the trunk to open “without warning and obstruct the driver’s visibility, increasing the risk of a crash,” Tesla said, according to Reuters.
Tesla discovered the latch issue earlier this year but does not impact its recent production, The Wall Street Journal reported.
