CHICAGO — Kraft Heinz is voluntarily recalling roughly 5,760 cases of Capri Sun Wild Cherry Flavored Juice Drink Blend beverages, citing potential contamination concerns.
Per the recall notice, issued Friday, a diluted cleaning solution used on food-processing equipment was “inadvertently introduced” into one of the Chicago-based food conglomerate’s production lines.
The recall is limited specifically to 6.6-ounce Wild Cherry-Flavored Capri Sun products with a “Best When Used By” date of June 25, 2023.
According to the company, the issue was discovered after several consumer complaints were lodged about the taste of the affected product. In turn, Kraft Heinz is working closely with retail partners and distributors to “remove potentially impacted products from circulation.”
“Kraft Heinz is committed to upholding the highest safety and quality standards,” the company stated.
Consumers are advised not to consume the affected product and may return it to the store where it was purchased. Consumers may also contact Kraft Heinz from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. EDT, Monday through Friday, at 1-800-280-8252 to see if a product is part of the recall and to receive reimbursement.
