LOS ANGELES — Rapper PnB Rock, known for the songs “Selfish” and “Fleek,” was shot and killed Monday at a Los Angeles restaurant, multiple news outlets are reporting.
According to the Los Angeles Times, the incident occurred shortly after 1 p.m. at Roscoe’s Chicken & Waffles on Manchester Boulevard, where the 30-year-old Philadelphia native, born Rakim Allen, and his girlfriend were eating. A suspect approached the table and “demanded items” from Allen before opening fire, a Los Angeles police officer told Rolling Stone. The shooter then took items from Allen and fled in a “waiting vehicle,” the officer said.
Crews rushed Allen to a nearby hospital, the news outlets reported. Doctors pronounced him dead shortly before 2 p.m., police said.
Allen’s girlfriend had shared a photo of her food on Instagram before the shooting, sources told the news outlets. The post, which was later deleted, included the restaurant’s location, the Times reported.
Police have not publicly released a suspect description and are still reviewing surveillance footage from the scene, the Times reported.
No further information was immediately available.
