OK, cool cats and kittens. There will be a tiger on the dance floor next week.
You guessed it. Carole Baskin of “Tiger King” will show off her dance moves to the strains of Survivor’s “Eye of the Tiger" in the upcoming season of “Dancing With the Stars,” E! Online reported Wednesday.
Baskin, 59, will appear on the show, beginning its 29th season, when it premieres at 8 pm. EDT Monday.
“I was just approved yesterday to release that we are doing ‘Eye of the Tiger,’ so I’m very excited about that,” Baskin said.
The song was used in the 1982 movie “Rocky III." It spent 25 weeks in the Billboard Hot 100, peaking at No. 1 on July 24, 1982.
Baskin has not officially decided on an outfit for the show, Entertainment Weekly reported.
“I’m actually sitting in my car outside of costuming right now," Baskin told reporters. “And I gave them the instructions that no fur, no feathers, no leather, and anything else. But anything else, I don’t care how wild.' I just said to have a blast.
“I can’t wait to see what they come up with."
Baskin admitted she has been struggling with her dance moves, USA Today reported.
“It’s actually so funny, because I tripped right into the security guard as we were leaving the dance studio,” Baskin said. “It was like, 'Oh, I have so far to go.”
On the Netflix series “Tiger King,” Baskin, who owns a big cat refuge, sought to shut down the big cats breeding zoo in Wynnewood, Oklahoma, owned by Joseph Maldonado-Passage -- known as Joe Exotic. The zoo has since closed.
Maldonado-Passage, 57, is serving a 22-year federal prison sentence for two counts of murder-for-hire, eight counts of falsifying wildlife records and nine counts of violating the Endangered Species Act. The murder-for-hire charges stem from a plot to have a hitman kill Baskin while the wildlife crimes stem from Maldonado-Passage’s killing of five tigers and falsifying of paperwork.
