The ideas behind the books will come from drawings that Dr. Seuss did before his death but were never published.

The sketches will be the inspiration behind new stories that will be written and illustrated by an “inclusive group of up-and-coming authors and artists,” The Associated Press reported.

The sketches will be selected from Dr. Seuss’ archives at the University of California San Diego, the group that owns his works, Dr. Seuss Enterprises said.

“The original Dr. Seuss sketch that serves as the inspiration for each of the new Seuss Studios books will be included in the book, along with a note from the creators explaining how they were inspired, and their process,” the company said, according to the AP.

The artists and writers have not been revealed, the AP reported.

The announcement came a year to the day after Dr. Seuss Enterprises announced it would no longer publish six of Dr. Seuss’ works because they had racist and insensitive images.

The books included: “And to Think That I Saw It on Mulberry Street,” “If I Ran the Zoo,” “McElligot’s Pool,” “On Beyond Zebra!,” “Scrambled Eggs Super!” and “The Cat’s Quizzer.”

The announcement coincides with Dr. Seuss’ birthday.

Dr. Seuss, who was born Theodor Seuss Geisel, would have been 118 years old. He died on Sept. 24, 1991, at the age of 87, according to History.com.
