News of country legend Naomi Judd’s death spread quickly across social media late Saturday afternoon.
Judd, whose daughters Wynona and Ashley Judd confirmed in a statement that they lost their “beautiful mother to the disease of mental illness,” was 76.

Her influence was felt far beyond the country music niche, however.
