OAKLAND COUNTY, Michigan — Four students died and seven other people were injured after a 15-year-old boy opened fire Tuesday afternoon at Oxford High School, Oakland County sheriff’s deputies said.
Authorities arrested the boy, who has not been identified because of his age and the fact that he has not been charged as an adult, after gunshots rang out before 1 p.m., Sheriff Mike Bouchard said.
The Oakland County Sheriff’s Office identified the slain students as Hana St. Juliana, 14; Tate Myre, 16; Madisyn Baldwin, 17; and Justin Shilling, 17. Seven other people between the ages of 14 and 47 were also injured, officials said.

Here’s what we know about the victims:
Hana St. Juliana, 14
Hana was the youngest person killed in Tuesday’s shooting. She had been playing front row in volleyball since middle school and played on Oxford High School’s team, The Detroit News reported.
She also played basketball, according to Oxford High School’s women’s basketball team. In a post on Twitter, the team said they would remember her “kind heart, silly personality and passion for the game.”

Tate Myre, 16
Bouchard said Tuesday that Tate died in a patrol car after a deputy loaded him inside to take him to a hospital. He was a varsity football player at Oxford High School. Late Tuesday, the team remembered him as “a great young man with a bright future and beloved by all.”
It is with great grief that one of the victims of the tragic event at OHS today was one of our own, Tate Myre. Tate was on varsity since his freshman year and was an honor student. In another tweet, the team called Tate “tremendously hardworking and respectful.”
“He was a tremendous football player with the brightest of futures and was an even better young man off the field as he was on it,” team officials said. “We all loved Tate and he will so very much be missed.”

As of Wednesday, more than 55,000 people had signed a change.org petition seeking to rename Oxford High School’s football stadium in honor of Tate.
Madisyn Baldwin, 17
Family members told WDIV-TV that Madisyn was set to graduate from high school this year and that she had already been accepted into several colleges, some with offers of full scholarships. She was described as an artist who had a younger half brother and two younger sisters.

“This horrific day could never have been imagined or planned for,” she wrote.
Justin Shilling, 17
Sheriff’s deputies said Justin died Wednesday morning, one day after being injured in the shooting at Oxford High School.
Managers of Anna’s Kitchen, a Lebanese restaurant in Lake Orion, identified Justin as an employee in a post Wednesday on social media, WOOD-TV reported. Employees remembered him as “an exemplary employee, a devoted friend and co-worker, co-captain of his bowling team, and simply a pleasure to be around.”
