Marvel Studios unveiled the first trailer for its Disney+ series, “Moon Knight,” on Monday night.
The show, which premieres March 30, stars Oscar Isaac as Steven Grant, a mild-mannered gift-shop employee who becomes plagued with blackouts and memories of another life, according to the Marvel website. Grant discovers he has dissociative identity disorder and shares a body with an ex-soldier and mercenary, Marc Spector.
The Spector character becomes the conduit for the Egyptian moon god Khonshu, Variety reported.
Moon Knight made his debut in Marvel Comics in 1975, Variety reported. The character initially had superpowers based on the phases of the moon, but more recent versions have kept his abilities mortal. He uses sophisticated gadgetry, which has brought comparisons to D.C. Comics hero Batman.
Ethan Hawke and May Calamawy appear in the series. Jeremy Slater, who worked on “The Exorcist” and “The Umbrella Academy,” serves as the show’s head writer. Mohamed Diab, Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead directed the six-episode series, the website reported.
