A man is accused of pouring bleach on a woman, sexually assaulting her and beating her with a mop, authorities said.
Rodney Wayne Hunt, 51, was arrested Wednesday and charged with sexual battery and felony battery, according to Escambia County Sheriff’s Office online booking records. While media outlets have listed Hunt’s home address as New Orleans, the sheriff’s office lists Hunt’s most recent address as Pensacola, Florida.
According to an arrest report, the sheriff’s office received a call on Monday from a woman who said she was attacked by Hunt when she refused to take drugs with him, WEAR-TV reported. The woman claimed that Hunt forced her to take a “meth pill” and then splashed bleach in her face, according to the television station.
According to the arrest report, Hunt then poured the entire bottle of bleach on the woman, WKRG-TV reported. Hunt then allegedly grabbed the mop and struck her in the face “numerous times” before hitting her several times in the face, according to the television station.
The woman then claimed that Hunt shaved parts of her head and then sexually assaulted her with the mop handle, WEAR reported.
After leaving the residence, the victim said she slept in the woods, according to WKRG. When she returned to the house the next day, the victim called 911 after Hunt allegedly refused to let her enter, according to the television station.
Investigators obtained a search warrant for Hunt and arrested him after locating him inside the residence.
Hunt is currently being held at the Escambia County Jail, with bail set at $85,000, online records show.
