The Los Angeles County coroner said Tuesday that Lisa Marie Presley’s cause of death has not yet been determined, even though an autopsy has been completed.
The coroner listed Presley’s cause of death as “deferred.” Deferred means that a cause of death has not yet been determined even though an autopsy was completed.
The coroner will now conduct additional tests to determine what caused Presley to go into cardiac arrest, Sarah Ardalani, a spokesperson with the LA County Dept. of Medical Examiner-Coroner told CNN.
Presley, 54, was in cardiac arrest when she was found at her home last Thursday. She was taken to the hospital where she died later that day.
Presley, along with her mother, Priscilla, attended the Golden Globes awards ceremony two days before her death and celebrated Austin Butler’s Best Actor award for portraying her father, Elvis Presley, in a biography of the singer.
A public memorial for Presley is planned for Sunday at Graceland, her father’s former home, in Memphis, Tennessee.
“In lieu of flowers, the family encourages all who wish to send something to do so in the form of a donation to The Elvis Presley Charitable Foundation,” a notice on the site reads.
The Elvis Presley Charitable Foundation supports arts, education and efforts on behalf of children in the Memphis area.
