Warren County deputies went to the victims' rural Alvaton home for a welfare check shortly before 9:30 p.m. Tuesday and found them dead, authorities said. Their names and additional details of the killings have not been released.

“The investigation revealed that the deceased’s grandson, Joshua Wright, was missing along with a 2013 Chevy truck,” a Warren County Sheriff’s Office statement said. “Deputies located Wright and the missing vehicle (12 miles away) at 2425 Woodburn Allen Springs Road.”

Alvaton is an unincorporated community about 10 miles southeast of Bowling Green.

No motive has been made public in the double homicide. A woman who identified herself as Wright’s sister wrote on the sheriff’s office’s Facebook post about the case that her brother suffers from severe mental illness.

The siblings were raised by their grandparents, she said.
