Kathy Lamkin, ‘No Country for Old Men’ actress, dead at 74

PEARLAND, Texas — Kathy Lamkin, known for her appearances in “No Country for Old Men” and “The Texas Chainsaw Massacre,” has died at age 74.

According to Deadline and the Hollywood Reporter, the Texas native suffered a “short illness” before her death on April 4.

“She was a bright shining example of kindness and encouragement in everything she did. She will be missed by many. Please keep her family in your thoughts,” the Linda McAlister Talent agency wrote in a Facebook post Monday.

“Kathy was immensely talented and such a kind and funny soul. She lives on in the great roles that she so creatively and uniquely brought to life. How amazing to have known this incredible person. Heartfelt love and prayers to her wonderful family and universe of friends. We love you, Kathy.”

In a statement to Deadline, Lamkin’s family added that the actress, who lived in Pearland, “left an impact on all that she encountered during her life on this Earth.”

In addition to her memorable roles as a trailer park manager in 2007′s “No Country for Old Men” and the tea lady in 2003′s “The Texas Chainsaw Massacre,” Lamkin appeared in several television shows, including “Medium,” “Bones,” “Boston Legal” and “My Name Is Earl,” Deadline reported. Her other film credits include “Waiting for Guffman,” “Kiss Kiss Bang Bang” and “Sweetwater.”

Lamkin is survived by her husband, two children and two grandchildren, according to Deadline.
