Fans of the Christmas classic “A Christmas Story” are discovering more about Ralphie and what happened following his childhood Christmas when he got his Red Ryder BB gun.
The full trailer for the sequel of “A Christmas Story” — called “A Christmas Story Christmas” — has been released, showing a grown-up Ralphie with a family of his own.
Peter Billingsley returns to the role that made him famous — Ralphie Parker — and is joined by his co-stars from the original film, Scott Schwartz and R.D. Robb as Flick and Schwartz, and Ian Petrella as Ralphie’s little brother Randy.
The movie pays tribute to Darren McGavin, who played Ralphie’s dad in the original. McGavin died in 2006.
Melinda Dillon who played Ralphie’s mother has not returned and has been replaced by Julie Hagerty.
This is the latest in the retelling of “A Christmas Story,” which had a sequel, a remake and a musical all based on the original movie, CNN reported.
