HALL COUNTY, Ga. — A Georgia woman has been found guilty of killing her elderly fiancé and living with his body.
Tabitha Zelida Wood, 46, was found guilty of killing as well as concealing the death of Leroy Franklin Kramer Jr., 82, according to court records obtained by WSB-TV.
Kramer’s stepdaughter told police in June 2022 that she had not heard from him for a few months and was concerned for his safety.
Deputies went to Kramer’s house and found his body. Wood told them that Kramer died months before at the beginning of April, and she had been living with his body since, according to the AP.
An autopsy found that Kramer’s death was a homicide, according to WSB-TV. The preliminary cause of death appeared to be blunt and sharp force trauma.
Wood was found guilty of malice murder, two counts of felony murder, aggravated assault, exploitation of an elderly person, concealing the death of another, and financial transaction card theft on Friday, WSB-TV reported.
A court date for Wood’s sentence has not yet been announced.
