A former White House butler who had a long career serving the most powerful men of the country has died.
Wilson Roosevelt Jerman died after contracting COVID-19 on May 16, WTTG reported.
Jerman was 91 years old.
Jerman worked under 11 presidents starting with President Dwight Eisenhower as a cleaner. He became a butler, thanks to first lady Jacqueline Kennedy while her husband, President John Kennedy, was in office.
Jerman retired in 1997 but returned to his post in 2012 as a maître d’ under President Barack Obama, who honored Jerman with a plaque and coins representing each president he worked for, according to CNN.

A photo of Jerman, Obama and Michelle Obama standing in an elevator was included in the former first lady’s book “Becoming," CNN reported.

He served at the pleasure of 11 U.S. Presidents... during his 55 years at the White House.
