MINNEAPOLIS — A bizarre major league baseball season continues to get weirder.
Already plagued with a shortened season due to the coronavirus pandemic and canceled games after several teams’ players and staffs tested positive for COVID-19, MLB faced another odd situation Tuesday. The game between the host Minnesota Twins and the Pittsburgh Pirates was delayed during the fifth inning when a drone flew over the stadium.

Baseball players, who were pulled off the field, tried to knock the four-propeller drone from the sky by throwing baseballs at it, The Sporting News reported.
No fans were injured. That’s because there were no fans at the game due to restrictions caused by the coronavirus. None of the fake fan cutouts were disturbed, either.
We have a drone-based delay at Target Field. One was flying overhead, so they pulled everyone off the field for several minutes.

Sure, why not. Doesn't even crack the top 100 list for weird shit in 2020. UFO could land on the mound next inning and I'd say just play through.
It is not the first time a drone has buzzed a ballpark. One appeared at Fenway Park between innings of a game between the Boston Red Sox and Toronto Blue Jays, The Sporting News reported.
The drone quickly disappeared into the stands at Target Field and the players returned to action.
If you’re keeping score, it’s a fly out.
save your artsy drone footage of Minneapolis for after the game, please.#MNTwins pic.twitter.com/EAYUjjqv5s
