HOMESTEAD, Fla. — Three people have died and three others are injured after gunfire erupted early Monday at an apartment complex near Homestead Air Reserve Base in Florida, authorities said.

According to WTVJ and WPLG, the incident occurred shortly before 2 a.m. local time near the intersection of 282nd Street and Southwest 126th Court. Police arrived to find three people dead – a woman, a 15-year-old and the suspected shooter, authorities said.
Emergency crews flew two children and one other victim to a nearby hospital, where one child, an 11-year-old, is being treated for critical injuries, WTVJ reported. Further information about the victims’ conditions was not immediately available.
Investigators believe that the suspected shooter died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound, according to WTVJ.
