HOLLYWOOD, Fla. — The Florida man charged with beating a puppy, stabbing it multiple times and stuffing it into a suitcase has pleaded guilty.
The Associated Press reported Brandon Evans agreed to spend 10 years in prison for attacking the pit bull puppy.
Evans was originally facing more charges, but prosecutors agreed to drop some in exchange for the plea.
A Facebook group dedicated to Ollie the pit bull celebrated Evans’ guilty plea. Ollie died two days after his rescue in 2017.

Evans had a history of animal abuse, according to NBC Miami. (Warning: Report includes graphic details.) Evans’ attorney told the South Florida Sun-Sentinel that his client is on medication and in need of mental health treatment.
